Javier Eduardo Pabón

I received a BA in Communications from Universidad de La Sabana in 1997. Most of my undergraduate work was on audiovisual production and criticism, the relations between the media and the social movements, and the understanding of communicative and cultural practices. From 1995 to 1998, I was part of several audiovisual projects that span from experimental video and documentary, to feature length commercial films.

In 1998, I began teaching at the Departamento de Comunicación y Literatura of the Universidad Católica del Ecuador. During these years my teaching and research explored the relations between literary and audiovisual discourses. In the spring of 2006, I obtained my Master’s with a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Duke University.

Currently I am Assistant Professor at the Department of International Studies at Saint Augustine’s College, in Raleigh North Carolina.
